Gerben Hellinga supports innovative and sustainable organizations in developing their overall subsidy programs.
He studied Business Administration at the University of Groningen and has been working in the area of grants and incentives for EY since 2003, with an intermediate step between 2007 and 2015 at PNO Consultants.
“Organizations can no longer avoid talking about sustainability and are now taking important steps concerning social impact, for example, by working together with research institutes. Or, alternatively, developing innovations through their own R&D departments. We help them to obtain financing for these kinds of sustainable ambitions. From selecting the right financial instrument and its application, to dealing with the administrative obligations. Clarity is important here - I want clients to always know where they stand. It’s always black and white for me, never gray.”

“What’s the best part? That we’re involved from the outset. We can accelerate clients’ ambitions or reduce risks. They want real help in achieving something special. We have a considerable role here - we essentially provide money. And, because we’re involved with so many projects, we know what’s going on everywhere. For example, we often introduce different parties in order to share knowledge and build cooperative groups.”
