Minutes of the 266th meeting of the Customs Code Committee – Combined Nomenclature sector
On 18 March 2025 the 266th meeting of the Customs Code Committee, Combined Nomenclature sector was held in Brussels. The following topics were discussed during this meeting:
- Proposal for new CN codes net-zero technologies:
o Wind turbine blades
o Tubular wind turbine steel towers
o Photovoltaic wafers
o Inverters
o Separators of plastic film
o Lithium ferro-phosphate
o Lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxides
o Powders (solely of artificial graphite)
o Assemblies of stacked galvanic cells for water electrolysis machines for the production of hydrogen or oxygen
o Hydrogen fuel cell DC generators
o Rotors and stators for hydraulic turbine or water wheel
- Request for new CN codes for steel products plated or coated with magnesium-aluminium-zinc alloys (headings 7210, 7212, 7225, 7226)
- Request for new CN codes in heading 8309
- Linguistic correction CN 2025
o 2206 Czech language
o 2931 49 60 printing error Latvian publication
o More assessment required of correct wording in CN code 8501 53 50 in the Hungarian publication (error can be corrected in the CN2026) - Request by MS for a new CN code in Chapter 99
- Proposal by MS to reduce number of headings in CN given the upcoming HS Transposition in 2028.
o Majority of MS were in favour of the proposal - Next CN Customs Code Committee takes place on 20 May 2025 in physical format. The first draft of the CN2026 will be presented ahead of this meeting. The vote of CN2025 will take place in an online meeting on 3 July 2025.
