This Alert updates on Notification 8664/TB-SNV on implementation of electronic issuance for work permit and work permit exemption certificate results in Ho Chi Minh City.
On 22 May 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs issued Notification 8664/TB-SNV (1) on the implementation of electronic issuance of results for work permit (WP) and work permit exemption certificate (WPE). Accordingly, from 15 June 2026, results for applications for issuance, re-issuance and extension of WPE for foreign employees working in Vietnam, will be provided in electronic form, with legal validity equivalent to paper documents.
Individuals, organizations and enterprises can obtain electronic results as follows:
- Access the registered account on the National Public Service Portal (https://dichvucong.gov.vn)
- Search submitted applications using the application number
- Download electronic documents bearing valid digital signatures of the competent authority
- Store them in the electronic record systems
The implementation reflects the Ho Chi Minh City to advancing digital transformation, improving administrative efficiency for organizations and individuals, and reducing administrative and storage costs.
