Mohsin Issa, Co-CEO, and Zuber Issa, Co-CEO, EG Group

As teenagers, Mohsin and Zuber Issa casually worked at a family-owned filling station in Blackburn. At the time, the Issa family did not have the necessary capital to invest in the site and sold the business. After leaving school, Zuber realized that filling stations could be retail destinations. The brothers put their plan to work and bought their first station in 2001. By forming partnerships with leading retail brands, the two have created what is today the world’s leading independent fuel station and convenience retailer.

EG Group owns and operates around 5,500 sites across 9 different countries and employs over 35,000 people. Its success is due, in large part, to the relationships it has formed with well-known brands, providing a convenient retail outlet for motorists around the world.

Mohsin and Zuber’s parents came to the country as immigrants, and the brothers are inspired to give back to the community. EG Group encourages its employees to get involved with fundraising and community work. The two brothers have also set up the ISSA Foundation, which supports the local hospitals and gives free breakfasts to underprivileged schoolchildren in Blackburn alongside international initiatives in developing countries.
