Rebecca MacDonald is the founder and Executive Chair of Just Energy Group, a leading retail energy provider specializing in electricity and natural gas commodities, energy efficiency solutions, and renewable energy options. With an international footprint, Just Energy operates in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, Ireland and Japan, and it has a base of 4.1 million residential customer equivalents. The company serves residential and commercial customers, providing homes and businesses with a broad range of energy management solutions.
Rebecca was named Canada’s top woman CEO in 2003 through 2007 by Profit magazine. She received the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2003 Canada Award, and she won the international Horatio Alger Award in 2009. Rebecca also received an Honorary Doctor of Law from the University of Victoria, British Columbia in 2011. She founded the Rebecca MacDonald Centre for Arthritis at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto and is involved in several charities. She currently sits on the Board of Canadian Pacific Railway.
