EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 Finland
Inspired by his own annoyance with a noisy colleague, Samu Hällfors began a journey to create a quieter, more productive working environment for others. In 2010, he founded Framery Oy in Tampere, Finland, to design and build soundproof pods and conference rooms for offices.
In the past nine years, Framery has swiftly become the global market leader in the innovative product category it pioneered. The company uses birch plywood and other locally sourced materials to build the pods, creating 500 manufacturing jobs in Finland. Framery employs more than 250 people and exports 90% of its products to 70 countries around the globe.
Samu says it’s been his dream since high school to build something new. His ambition now is to build on the success of Framery and keep spreading a little happiness — and quiet — to workplaces around the world.
