EY announces that it has been certified as a Great Place to Work® in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The certification was awarded following a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® Institute Middle East and is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience.

Joe Murphy, EY UAE Managing Partner, said:

“At EY we believe that our people are our greatest asset and we work hard to make sure they have the support that they need to maintain their wellbeing and be successful both in and out of the workplace. Being certified as a Great Place To Work® is a testament to our effort to create a progressive and flexible environment where they have the access to the tools, developmental programs, and mentors they need to grow their careers.”

Speaking about the certification, Rachel Ellyard, EY MENA Talent Leader, said:

“EY aims to foster an atmosphere that is diverse, inclusive, and encourages collaboration and growth. We want our people to feel empowered in their roles and have the necessary tools to help them achieve both their professional and personal goals with flexibility. EY employees have access to various learning programs to enhance their skillsets and they are rewarded for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional work.”

EY is dedicated to enabling a culture that promotes a work-life balance to support the health and well-being of its people. It offers benefits such as an extended parental leave policy with an adjustable return date, as well as a flexible working policy that gives employees more flexibility around where and how they work, with a greater ability to adapt their working patterns to both clients and their personal lives. In addition, all EY employees have access to Thrive Global’s wellness app, which focuses on improving mental health and developing healthy habits both in and out of the workplace.

The multinational professional services employer also encourages its people to stay relevant by developing their skills through world-class learning platforms such as Udemy, an online learning marketplace. EY Badges, a program where employees can earn digital badges for attaining future-focused skills in topics like data visualization, data science, and artificial intelligence, grants certifications that are recognized externally. To further support career growth within the business, EY offers employees the opportunity to join Ignite, a two-year fully virtual development program focused on developing the future leaders of the Transformative Age.

Employees at EY are rewarded throughout the year for their contributions to the business through the Shukran Star initiative, which provides immediate recognition and an on-the-spot cash bonus for delivering exceptional work. The Better Begins with You campaign is a peer-based global recognition program that celebrates outstanding EY people and teams who have found inspiring and impactful ways to bring EY’s purpose – building a better working world – to life.

EY is also committed giving back to the communities it conducts business in and supporting the nationalization efforts of the UAE through its Graduate Development Program. The program encourages Emirati fresh graduates to join the private sector and receive training in specialized consulting and financial fields. Another youth-focused initiative, Corporate Finance Woman of the Year, invites female Emirati university students to learn about Strategy and Transactions and promotes the growing importance of women in the corporate finance industry.

The Great Place to Work® Certification recognizes EY’s commitment towards investing in its people and creating a high-trust workplace. The certification is based on the employees’ experience as determined through the Trust Index© Survey and the analysis of the organizational culture. EY is proud to meet the criteria of a great workplace culture and has also been globally ranked in 7th place in the 2019 Great Place to Work “World’s Best Workplaces” list.
