EY Greater China region opens the 29th office in Kunming

KUNMING, 7 JANUARY 2020. As the 29th office of EY Greater China region, we will provide a full range of professional services to institutions and enterprises in Yunnan, helping Yunnan to become a gateway to Southeast and South Asia.

The Yunnan Branch of Ernst & Young Hua Ming LLP, the Yunnan Branch of Ernst & Young (China) Advisory Limited, the Yunnan Branch of Ernst & Young (Shanghai) Tax Accountants Co., Ltd., the Yunnan Branch of Ernst & Young Zhongheng Engineering Cost Consulting Co., Ltd., and the Yunnan Branch of Shanghai Zhixin Assets Evaluation Co., Ltd. officially opened in Kunming today.

As the 29th office of EY Greater China region, these five business units in Kunming will provide a full range of professional services including assurance, tax, transaction and advisory to institutions and enterprises in Yunnan, assisting a new round of upgrading. The office also supports the development of the province into a gateway to Southeast and South Asia.

Leaders from the Yunnan provincial government attended the opening ceremony with Albert Ng, China Chairman of EY; Jack Chan, Regional Managing Partner of EY Greater China and member of The Global Executive; Fion Xu, Yunnan Branch Leader at EY; and Tammy Zhang, Yunnan Assurance Partner at EY1

Albert Ng, China Chairman of EY, said: “Yunnan has been taking the lead in the nation’s development. Remarkable progress has been achieved in key sectors including biomedicine and biotech, information, new materials and advanced equipment manufacturing. The transformation of the province into a future-oriented and modern economic system has been accelerated. In addition, the establishment of the Yunnan Free Trade Pilot Zone and the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative are bringing new opportunities to Yunnan.”

We have built mutual trust with the communities and have deep understanding of Yunnan’s economic structure, competitive advantages, and development priorities. The opening of our Yunnan office came as a natural move and EY will upgrade our service offerings in the province to support its high-quality development,” Ng added.

Attended by hundreds of guests including Yunnan’s government officials and local business executives, insightful discussions were conducted on topics such as “how will the Yunnan Free Trade Zone promote regional economic development”, “the trend and strategies of state-owned enterprise reform”, as well as “investment in countries along the Belt and Road”.
