Winners of the EY Entrepreneur Of The YearTM (EOY) 2025 Awards were unveiled today, with 12 exceptional entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong/Macau recognized for their remarkable achievements after emerging from a highly competitive field to receive this prestigious honor.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the EOY program in Greater China. Themed “Two decades of unwavering strength, forging ahead in the new era”, the EOY program this year continues its mission to identify transformative founders and CEOs as The Shapers of our collective future and to honor outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate courage in innovation and resilience against challenges in the new era. The program seeks to commend those who have made significant contributions to leading the country’s private economy by steadfastly adhering to their aspirations with a spirit of perseverance and excellence.
The recent Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee outlined the blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan, with a dedicated strategic focus on accelerating high-level technological self-reliance and driving the development of new quality productivity. This underscores the nation’s commitment to supporting private enterprises in pioneering emerging industries and tackling technological challenges. Among this year’s winners, those from the technology sector are undoubtedly innovation leaders, while awardees from life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing and services are also leveraging technology to transform products and business models, forging ahead on the path of innovation.
Jack Chan, EY China Chairman and Greater China Regional Managing Partner, says: “Today, the world is undergoing profound transformation at unprecedented speed, as a new wave of technological revolution and industrial change reshapes the global competitive landscape. China now stands at a new starting point as it plans for the 15th Five-Year Plan. EY firmly believes that private entrepreneurs face both great responsibility and vast opportunities. For two decades, we have stayed aligned with national development priorities, building a platform for entrepreneurial exchange and collaboration through the EOY program. We look forward to working alongside a new generation of outstanding entrepreneurs to embrace new development concepts, contribute to the growth of new quality productive forces and advance the modernization of China’s economy.”
With its unique advantage of being backed by the Chinese mainland and connected to the world, Hong Kong serves as a “super connector” and “super value-adder” in China’s high-quality development journey. This year’s EOY Awards ceremony takes place in Hong Kong, leveraging the city’s role as a premier springboard for mainland enterprises to expand globally, while encouraging those already venturing overseas to enhance their value through Hong Kong.
Michael Bi, EY Greater China Markets Managing Partner and EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 Program Chair, says: “For two decades, EOY has celebrated and promoted the spirit of entrepreneurship in the new era. We have witnessed China’s transformation from a ‘learner’ and ‘follower’ to a global ‘leader,’ and the resilience and growth of private entrepreneurs who have embraced responsibility and delivered results. This year’s winners are driving new quality productive forces through technological innovation, becoming a fundamental force for China’s future economic development.”
After two decades of profound transformation, the private economy has become an indispensable driver of high-quality growth and deeper global economic integration. The Private Economy Promotion Law, implemented in May this year, provides a more stable and transparent legal environment, enabling entrepreneurs to operate with confidence, focus on growth and innovation, and pursue long-term value creation and sustainable development.
Carol Wu, Managing Director and Head of Private Banking, North Asia, DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, says: “In recent years, an increasing number of entrepreneurs from the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong have actively sought ‘going global’ development paths. This stems from their desire for diversified growth engines, their pursuit of new opportunities, and their ambition to build evergreen global businesses. This involves not only tapping into multiple markets but also diversifying supply chains and talent pools. At DBS Private Bank, we are deeply honored to be a steadfast collaborator to these entrepreneurs on this critical journey.”
The EOY program applies globally consistent judging criteria, evaluating candidates across four dimensions: entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact. The two EOY winners representing the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong/Macau – will be announced at the Awards Gala and will go on to represent the region at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ (WEOY) in 2026, competing with top entrepreneurs from around the globe. Celebrating WEOY’s 25th anniversary, the global program now spans 94 countries and regions, making it one of the most influential business awards worldwide.
