EY advised AIP Management in merchant financing of 132 MW wind farm portfolio

EY Corporate Finance advised AIP Management, a Danish investment manager investing into energy & infrastructure assets in Europe and the US, on the EUR 135m financing of a 132MW wind farm portfolio consisting of 4 onshore wind farms owned by Ilmatar in Finland through an innovative and flexible debt instrument designed to finance fully merchant projects on a long-term basis.

The onshore wind farm portfolio, located in Finland, will have a total expected production of c. 440 GWh per year, and is expected to reach commercial operations in Q1 2024. Ilmatar, a Finnish independent power producer established in 2011, is the 100% project owner and project manager during both construction and operations.

This is AIP Management’s second investment into the Finnish onshore wind market in the last 6 months.

EY Corporate Finance advised AIP Management as financial advisor in this important financing in the Finnish onshore wind sector, a continuation in their role on AIP's previous investment in a c. 150MW wind farm owned by VALOREM.
