Mia Seppänen named the winner of EY NextGen Women competition in Finland

Mia Seppänen has been announced the winner of EY NextGen Women, a competition for female students interested in Strategy and Transactions. Mia will be awarded with a traineeship and a 6-month mentoring program. She will also represent Finland in the global EY NextGen Women final.

The Finnish finals saw eight students from five universities competing for the win. The competitors solved group and individual assignments that required critical thinking and creative solutions for complex corporate finance problems.

The winner, Mia Seppänen, is a master’s student in Economics and Business Administration at Aalto University School of Business. Second place was awarded to Julia Vaara from Tampere University and third place to Janita Pirhonen from Aalto University.

The jury was impressed by the strong business acumen and the confident presentation style Mia displayed throughout even the most challenging tasks. She had a strong ability to bring out the best of her team members in the tasks, and her approach to cases was very organized and structured”, says Kinga Charpentier, sponsor of the EY NextGen Women competition and Corporate Finance Partner at EY Finland.

The objective of the EY NextGen Women student event is to inspire a new generation of talented women to pursue a career in Strategy and Transactions. The competition is part of EY’s commitment to fostering equality and diversity within its work community.

The competition brings together promising future professionals from various backgrounds and offers a kick-starter to their careers”, Charpentier states.

Mia Seppänen will represent Finland in the global EY NextGen Women competition final in the fall of 2024.
