Nominations

At EY, we believe that entrepreneurs are the moving force behind today’s economy. The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award is an annual program that identifies and honors entrepreneurs who have made a difference and are an inspiration to others.

You should be an active member of top management in the company – including founder/majority owner/executive of a private or public Indonesia-based company. To qualify for participating in the program as a nominee, the candidate must be:

  • Indonesian (WNI)
  • An owner or CEO or equivalent, who’s primarily responsible for the recent performance of the company. *EOY accepts more than one nomination from the same company. (i.e.: Founder/CEO with the co-founder). 
  • The company is running and operating in Indonesia
  • The company must be at least 2 to 3 years in operation
  • The nominee should provide 2 to 3 years audited financial statements of the company
  • Previous finalists of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year may be nominated again for the program after a 1-year gap

Participants will be judged by an independent panel of judges comprising past EY Entrepreneur Of The Year winners, business leaders, government leaders and academia. They will be assessed based on a set of four judging criterias.

  • Takes risks to realize their vision
  • Demonstrates courage, perseverance, and resilience to overcome significant obstacles

Purpose

  • Commit themselves and their organization to an inspiring purpose and vision
  • Drives strategies for a sustainable future business
  • Creates and protects value in the long term, across a broad group of stakeholders and ecosystems (e.g.; consumers, employees, suppliers, government, communities, investors, and shareholders)

Growth

  • Increases market share and expands into new markets
  • Drives positive financial performance
  • Invests in attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse mix of talent
  • Builds a culture of innovation that pioneers new approaches or technologies

Impact

  • Positively impacts the customers they serve
  • Integrates sustainable Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices in their strategy with robust commitments and executions plans
  • Focuses on diversity and inclusion across multiple dimensions

June - July
Launch of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Indonesia program. Nominations are accepted during this period through eoy.ey.com

July
Nominations close.

August - September

  • A shortlist of finalists is announced.
  • An on-site interview and visit by EY Partners will be conducted to gather more information. Followed by a professional video production filming as a promotional material of the finalists’ brand and company.

October
Finalists will be interviewed by and meet the Independent Panel of Judges in person.

November
The Indonesia country winner and category winners will be announced at the Awards Gala.

June (in the next year)
The Indonesia country winner will go on to represent Indonesia at the prestigious EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year black-tie reception and awards gala in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
