Lim Yuet Kim & Suzanne Ling

PichaEats

Passionate about enabling change for refugees through the food business, Ms. Suzanne Ling and Ms. Lim Yuet Kim, the co-founders of PichaEats, has worked alongside chefs from the refugee community who specialize in Middle Eastern delicacies, to build a sustainable food delivery and catering business since 2016.

During their final semester in university, Suzanne and Yuet Kim were volunteers at a refugee school and realised that many of their students were dropping out of school to work due to financial difficulties.

They came up with the idea of selling food with one of the student's mothers and since then, they have not looked back. Suzanne and Yuet Kim overcame the initial challenges to get the business off the ground by building their business network, learning from business leaders and embarking on a vigorous marketing strategy to build awareness and shift market perspectives; fiercely determined to make the business work with a social mission in mind.

To date, PichaEats has served more than half a million meals to clients such as Google, AMEX and Bank Negara. The company has also grown from just three co-founders in 2016 to eleven employees with a revenue of RM1.7 million in 2021.

PichaEats continuously strives to build a better Malaysia and the duo continues to inspire entrepreneurs to be more aware of the plight of refugees in order to help to improve their livelihoods.
