Rachel Lim is a Partner in the Assurance practice of Ernst & Young PLT, specializing in the insurance and takaful sector. She has more than 15 years of experience providing assurance and advisory services to public‑listed companies, multinational organizations and large local corporations within the financial services.

She began her career in advisory services before transitioning to Assurance, where she has led numerous external audit engagements for public interest entities, with a focus on life insurance, general insurance and takaful operators.

Rachel has worked on complex and high‑impact engagements, including serving as part of the reporting accountant team for an insurance company’s initial public offering (IPO). She also advises insurers on the implementation of key accounting standards, such as MFRS 9: Financial Instruments and MFRS 17: Insurance Contracts, as well as on accounting and regulatory matters related to license split exercises under the Financial Services Act (FSA) 2013 and Islamic Financial Services Act (IFSA) 2013.

She is an active contributor to the profession, regularly speaking at industry forums and supporting knowledge development and training initiatives within EY in Malaysia. Rachel is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
