Alex Korthals

Alex works with banks, PSPs, FinTechs and clients in the capital markets sector on strategy, business transformation, growth, capital efficiency and operating model optimisation, where possible with AI or technology-enabled solutions. Drawing on nearly three decades of experience in banking, investments, private equity and strategic advisory, Alex helps clients navigate changing market dynamics, regulatory developments and technological disruption. 

Before joining EY, Alex held a range of positions at PwC and ABN AMRO, ranging from M&A advisory, corporate strategy, private equity, business development, project management and client coverage for financial institutions. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with banks, private equity firms, sovereign investors, alternative asset managers and public-sector stakeholders, combining strategic insight with hands-on execution experience.

Alex holds an MSc in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and has completed executive education programs in CFO leadership, Governance, Alternative Investments and Lean Six Sigma. Married and father of 2 boys and 2 girls..
