The real cyber risk lies in what you think you have already secured

Murat Aktan

EY Nederland Senior Manager Cybersecurity, EY Consultancy

Cybersecurity specialist and strategic advisor for executives and boards. Specialized in NIS2, Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), cyber training, security audits, and security roadmaps.

Murat is a Senior Manager in Cybersecurity within EY's Dutch cybersecurity team. He has a background in Computer Science (VU Amsterdam) and holds certifications such as CISSP, GPEN, and ISO 27001 Auditor & Implementer.

He specializes in conducting security audits (including NIS2, BIO, ISO 27001) and providing cybersecurity training, such as NIS2 board training. Additionally, he focuses on themes such as ransomware resilience, vulnerability management, and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

His strength lies in translating technical complexity into clear advice for executives and boards. He advises both large international corporations and organizations in the public sector on managing cyber risks, establishing effective security governance, and achieving structural improvements through security roadmaps. He does this, of course, together with a talented team of cybersecurity consultants and ethical hackers.

How Murat is shaping the future with confidence

I am building a 'better working world' by helping organizations gain control over their digital resilience. In practice, this means making blind spots visible.

Cybersecurity has now become central to our society, especially as vital sectors such as energy, healthcare, and finance become increasingly dependent on IT. You want that infrastructure to be optimally secured, particularly in light of current geopolitical tensions and new legislation such as the Cbw/NIS2.

In addition to providing oversight and insight, I also help organizations turn shortcomings into targeted actions. This enables boards and executives to make informed choices in an increasingly complex threat landscape. In this way, I contribute to a safer world.
