Niels is an Assurance Partner at EY Netherlands and chair of the Amsterdam management team. With more than 25 years of experience, Niels guided ambitious companies through their most defining financial milestones. After earning his accounting degree at Nyenrode Business University, he joined EY in 2000 and built his career as an external auditor across a broad spectrum of sectors.
Today, Niels specializes in supporting fast-growing companies preparing for IPO, M&A, and other capital-raising events. Clients turn to him for expert guidance on complex financial accounting matters, including business combinations, IPO readiness, sustainability reporting (CSRD/ESRS), and internal control frameworks.
His mission is to help CFOs build mature and scalable organizations that can sustain growth without losing momentum — with a particular passion for the (bio) technology sector and other ambitious, purpose-driven companies shaping tomorrow's economy.
