Jacinto (Jun) Ng, Jr. has always had a passion for architecture. After years of designing houses and communities for his father’s social housing business, Jun was inspired to develop housing to help the 5 million estimated homeless families in the Philippines.
Jun founded Raemulan Lands in 2016 to build social housing that would be affordable for minimum-wage earners. This initiative provides homes to those in need, fostering a sense of community and resilience among residents. The company is part of the Joy~Nostalg Group, which includes property development, power, hospitality and culinary, and leasing companies.
Since its formation, Raemulan Lands has developed 57,000 units, with 50,000 for social housing — an achievement unparalleled in the past 40 years of Philippine housing. The company’s first groundbreaking project redefined housing by integrating sustainability and affordability into its core design. Raemulan Lands currently delivers 10,000 social housing units per year, with the lowest priced units in the market and at zero cash equity for the homebuyers. In 2022-24, Raemulan Lands was recognized by the Philippine government for leading socialized housing, contributing nearly 30% of the national housing program and giving homes to over 10,000 families. The company is now working toward a fivefold increase in its output.
Jun leveraged the synergy between Raemulan Lands and Joy~Nostalg Solaris, the group’s solar energy company, to create the world’s first utility-grade socialized housing rooftop solar energy installation. He also established the Joy~Nostalg Foundation to sustain responsible homeownership. Its programs have improved financial and housing literacy, enhanced family relationships, and strengthened local community leadership.
