Conversion of financial statement from VAS to IFRS

The conversion of financial statements from Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an essential requirement for not only foreign-invested enterprises and the ones having regional or global business operations, or intending to raise capital or to list overseas, etc., but also for all types of enterprises in Vietnam in the near future.

When adopting IFRS, the fair value of the business is reflected more reasonably. It can also save time and cost for VAS-IFRS conversion. IFRS adoption helps in enhancing the quality of management information and the effectiveness of business performance, thus broadens business cooperation opportunities, increases business’s attraction for capital raising and international integration.

According to the IFRS roadmap by the Ministry of Finance, most of Vietnam businesses will adopt IFRS. Well preparation for this change is a must to businesses.
