Having been present in Vietnam for three decades, Ernst & Young Vietnam Limited (EY Vietnam) has not only pursued growth targets but also striven to ease difficulties facing the community. The company has launched numerous corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to provide long-term support to charity and non-governmental organizations, contributing to the development of the community.

Pham Thi Hong Anh, deputy general director in charge of human resources at EY Vietnam, said: “Over the three decades operating in Vietnam, we have contributed to the development of the local financial market as well as made meaningful changes and generated motivations to build a better community.”
The company’s social activities in key sectors, such as healthcare, education, environmental protection and gender equality, have contributed to the development of the society, Anh added.
Running for the community
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of EY Vietnam, the company on July 23 organized the “Run for the better” event in Hanoi and HCMC.
More than 1,200 employees of EY Vietnam and their family members participated in the race. With each kilometer completed, a tree would be planted.
At the end of the race, runners completed a total of 5,000 kilometers, so EY Vietnam donated 5,000 trees to the Ben En National Park in Thanh Hoa Province through the “Forest plantation to slow down the sixth mass extinction” program of the Gaia Nature Conservation.
EY also initiated UpRace 2020, in which 147 employees of the company ran 14,692 kilometers and over VND14.5 million was donated to perform surgeries for cleft lip or palate children. In this race, with every kilometer recorded on the UpRace app, VNG Corporation would donate VND1,000 to the Operation Smile.
In addition, EY Vietnam’s EY Golden Heart Fund contributed an additional VND15 million to the Operation Smile to help more cleft lip or palate children.
The fund also donated VND90 million to Song Foundation in November 2020 to build flood-resilient houses for residents in areas regularly hit by storms.
According to the foundation, most of households receiving the design and finance support under the program can take the initiative in responding to storms. The model has helped residents minimize human and property losses.
Through Song Foundation, EY Vietnam expected to join forces to help residents have a stable life and share its experience in constructing flood-resilient houses.
EY Vietnam has also paid much attention to the education sector. To support future generations, in April 2017, EY Vietnam signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier, the company had also concluded agreements with the National Economics University, the University of Economics and Law-Vietnam National University HCMC and the Foreign Trade University.
Through these agreements, EY has offered scholarships to students, recruited graduates from these universities, cooperated with these universities in teaching, training, research and career guidance activities, and supported students’ startups.
EY Vietnam has significantly contributed to nurturing the future human resources in the auditing and consulting sector for the country.
Active supporter in combat against pandemic
EY Vietnam joined hand with local authorities to combat Covid-19
When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in Vietnam, thousands of medical workers had to work with all their might to treat patients.
Understanding their difficulties and sacrifice, the EY Golden Heart Fund on September 8, 2021 presented the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases 1,500 face masks, 1,300 protective suits and nearly 100 boxes of food and beverages to share the difficulties facing the hospital and frontline medical workers there. On December 31 last year, the fund continued donating 900 protective suits, 940 face masks and necessities to the hospital.
Moreover, 1,000 protective suits and 100 boxes of bottled water were sent to Trung Vuong Hospital.
As part of activities to help fight the pandemic, the EY Golden Heart Fund in September last year made a donation to the Oxygen Saigon program, which provided oxygen free of charge to Covid-19 patients treated at their homes, thus easing pressure of frontline medical workers.
On July 16, 2021, EY Vietnam also contributed VND125 million to the Covid-19 vaccine fund to join hands with the Government to conduct the largest-ever vaccination campaign, achieving herd immunity.
Through these activities, EY Vietnam wanted to tackle the pandemic and spread the “mutual love, mutual affection” spirit.
