Our commitment to Inclusiveness for everyone

EY is a 400,000-person organization, spanning over 150 countries and territories and multiple generations. That means diversity of thought, skills, backgrounds and experiences is our reality — and our strength.

Inclusiveness helps in building our globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and when driving innovation and better business results. I’ve seen and heard this first-hand from conversations with EY people, leaders, clients and candidates around the world. People continue to look for — and lean on — inclusiveness when choosing EY as a place to work. We see this reflected in the global marketplace: A recent EY Belonging Barometer study shows that 74% of all surveyed workers say how a company prioritizes inclusion impacts their choice to join or work there.

Inclusiveness is a longstanding business priority for EY, one we’ve continued to build on under our All in business strategy. We’re using this strong foundation to evolve what inclusiveness at EY means, in an increasingly dynamic and complex global business landscape. For example, inclusiveness is embedded in key components such as our EY values, All in strategy, Global Code of Conduct, our employee value proposition and Inclusion and Non-discrimination Global Policy. It is a collective commitment by our Global Executive, the highest global management body and the key focus of our Global Inclusiveness Steering Committee (GISC).

However, inclusiveness is more than an organizational commitment at EY. It’s core to who we are and how we work together, driving exceptional experiences for our people and top- and bottom-line performance for our services. In fact, 84% of respondents in a recent EY People Pulse survey agreed that “EY provides a work environment where I feel free to be myself”, reflecting the value of inclusiveness for our people and our business.

In our people-centered business, inclusion and excellence are inextricably linked — helping us deliver innovative services, closer connections, greater growth and a more resilient business. It’s about everyone, it takes everyone and it benefits everyone.

When we embrace all voices, experiences and backgrounds, we not only live our values but inspire confidence that shapes our future. I hope you’ll join me in building an inclusive culture for our people, clients and communities.

Because it's about all of us. Together, all in, with inclusiveness for everyone.

The impact of inclusiveness

At the global EY organization, we’ve seen the positive impact that inclusiveness has on people’s experiences, business operations and in creating value.

Here are a few results from a recent EY People Pulse survey:

of respondents have agreed that “I feel included and supported by the people I interact with each day.”
of respondents have agreed that “EY provides a work environment where I feel free to be myself.”

Additionally, according to the global EY Belonging Barometer 3.0, a survey of more than 5,000 working adults across multiple organizations globally, almost half of surveyed workers say that work is where they feel the greatest sense of belonging, second only to home.

of all surveyed workers say that their company’s prioritization of inclusiveness impacts their choice to join or work there.
of surveyed Gen Z workers say that inclusiveness is of greatest importance to them when choosing to work at a firm.

What inclusiveness for everyone means at EY

Inclusiveness is core to who we are and how we work together, driving value for our people and for our services. It’s an intentional part of our values and All in strategy, and a collective commitment at EY. It’s about all of us: all voices, all experiences, all backgrounds.

We shape an inclusive culture through our expectations, behaviors and actions, where we each feel a sense of belonging and are valued for who we are, and where our collaboration across differing perspectives builds a more resilient business. Hover over the images below to learn more.
