Grundfos, Salling Group and Nykredit were the finalists for the Climate Impact Award, which was awarded based on i.a. goals, ambitions and proven results.
Between inspiring presentations and fiery debates, winners of this year's awards were announced when Sustainability Awards was held by Dansk Erhverv and EY on 14 September.
This evening, Grundfos won the Climate Impact Award, which was presented in Børssalen, and the venue was filled to capacity. The winner was chosen by an independent jury that assessed eight nominated companies based on various criteria. From the eight nominees, three finalists were selected:"
- Grundfos
- Salling Group
- Nykredit
And it was Grundfos which took the prize.
The Climate Impact Award is given to a company that, through its strategic approach, demonstrates particularly ambitious goals and actions in addressing climate change, Jan C. Olsen, CEO of EY in Denmark informs:
“Through the Climate Impact Award, focus is on companies that already do well, but want to do more. E.g. by introducing new initiatives that can inspire and set new standards. It is also about clear impact, and the criteria for the prize are tough and require solid results which support ambitions and goals. The independent jury found that Grundfos is a good example of that.”
The value of joining forces
Among other factors, the jury justified the selection of Grundfos based on their solid results and comprehensive net-zero plan. The jury also highlighted Grundfos' partnerships aimed at finding solutions for more environmentally friendly production.
"This year's winner of the Climate Impact Award is exceptionally ambitious and understands the value of collaboration. Many exciting initiatives could be emphasized, and Grundfos, with its global reach throughout the value chain, brings about positive impact and change," says Brian Mikkelsen, CEO of Dansk Erhverv.
Mikael Geday, Executive Vice President and CFO of Grundfos, says: "It is embedded in our business to make a positive impact on the world's water and climate challenges. Thanks to a strong collaboration across Grundfos, we had our Science-Based Targets approved last year. In 2023, we have already committed 150 million DKK to support initiatives that will help us achieve our 2025 net-zero target. We are immensely proud to have our dedication recognized and honoured with the EY Sustainability Award for Climate Impact.”
