Announcing election of new EYSN Chairwoman & CEO

Ernst & Young ShinNihon LLC (EYSN) is pleased to announce that today Masami Katakura, Senior Partner, was named as our new Chairwoman & CEO.

Masami Katakura will become the first woman to lead a Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm in Japan.

She will officially be appointed as Chairwoman & CEO by resolution of the Partners Meeting scheduled for 28 March 2019.

She is expected to take office effective 1 July 2019.

Appointment process for EYSN Chairperson & CEO:

The Chairperson & CEO is appointed in accordance with the following nomination process as stipulated by the firm's policies governing the selection of Executive Board Members.

• The Nomination Meeting (comprising two external and three internal Governance Council members) and Public Interest Committee (comprising three external Governance Council members) deliberate on and select nominees for Chairperson & CEO through a resolution of the Governance Council members.
• A vote is held by all partners on the nominees for Chairperson & CEO to name one candidate for Chairperson & CEO.
• The Chairperson & CEO is formally appointed by resolution of the Partners Meeting. (Scheduled to be held on 28 March 2019)
