EY network member firms (“EY”) hereby welcome EY Immigration Corporation (“EYGH”), a newly established Gyoseishoshi Hojin which focusses on visa and immigration services.
EY also announces that it entered into a Business Transfer Agreement with WEDOFY HR Services Co., Ltd. (“WEDOFY”). Subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions of the Business Transfer Agreement by the parties, Yoshikazu Satoh, the president of WEDOFY and his team are expected to join EYGH as of 1 July 2020.
As part of EY People Advisory Services (“PAS”), EYGH plays a vital role in helping clients with their global mobility plans and operations. EYGH provides one-stop immigration services, bringing together consulting skills and knowledge in immigration compliance, with experiences in Japanese inbound visa applications, work permits, residence permits, extensions, and short-term business traveler deployment. EYGH leverages the global EY network to provide clients with additional support for Japanese organizations with outbound visa applications.
EY PAS has more than 30 years’ experience in immigration services, and their global mobility services provide not only visa services but also tax-related services and mobility strategy and policy design services to provide a seamless cross border experience for HR, assignees and business travelers.
Remarks from Nick Pond, EY Japan Mobility Leader, PAS:
“WEDOFY has filed over 20,000 immigration applications for more than 15 years, and about 10% of work permits granted in Japan per year are assisted by WEDOFY. Their deep experience in the Japanese immigration environment and regulatory framework was a perfect fit to join EY immigration and broader mobility network across the globe. Satoh-san’s personal brand and experience and his team will allow us to bring leading services in the market to support EY clients. EY is a leading professional service organization in mobility services and it’s great to have new colleagues join the existing PAS team in Japan. We welcome them and their clients to EY businesses and network.”
Remarks from Yoshikazu Satoh, the president of WEDOFY:
“As the President at WEDOFY HR Services Co., Ltd., I wanted to take our business to the next level in supporting our clients and giving my team new opportunities. We are market leaders in Japan-related immigration support, but to provide a truly integrated mobility experience we needed to find a collaborator to help drive our growth plans.
EY is a market leader in the provision of mobility services. With EY investments and its network of member firms across the globe, I thought this would be a great opportunity for WEDOFY to make it happen and move to the next stage. We are looking forward to working with our new colleagues at EY organization.”
Remarks from Megumi Fujii, Partner, PAS of Ernst & Young Tax Co. and Representative Member of EYGH:
“Immigration and the granting of visas for an individual and their family is the first important part of an assignee’s international experience, and we want to make it seamless. The integrated EY mobility offering supports companies to move their people efficiently and quickly whilst also managing risk. Particularly as borders re-open upon the end of the Covid-19 health crisis, the feasibility and viability of assignments and business travel will need careful management; located here in Japan and throughout the world, EY teams of immigration and business travel professionals across the globe are already monitoring and planning for this development.”
EY teams will continue striving to provide timely, high quality services to each of the increasingly diversified EY clients.
