Serge Hanssens is the Global Client Service Partner for European institutions at EY, managing key public sector relationships across Europe. With nearly 30 years of experience in public sector management and EU policy development, he leads cross-border EU teams to integrate technology and innovation, addressing societal challenges while prioritizing people.
Before joining EY, Serge worked with EU bodies like the European Commission and European Parliament, and collaborated with national governments in Germany, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Portugal, the Netherlands and Finland, as well as organizations like NATO but also Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance. His expertise includes policy development in migration, border management, digital identity, taxation and security.
Serge holds master’s degrees in economics from Université Libre de Bruxelles and in commercial economics and finance from HEC Liège and INSEAD curriculum in Strategy and AI for business.
