A Luxembourg perspective
Rethinking asset management for 2030
Asset managers are navigating a non-linear, volatile landscape where incremental growth will not be sufficient. By 2030, the industry could be reshaped by AI native firms, tokenized markets, Big Tech distribution and new regulatory models that open private assets to the masses.
We also see market power consolidating as the largest global players capture disproportionate flows and budget advantages. Product innovation is clustering around private markets, active ETFs, thematic strategies and digital assets, while distribution shifts toward digital first engagement powered by AI personalization. Operating models are being rebuilt for flexibility, favoring managed services, automation, global capability centers and modular design to scale efficiently in a structurally tighter margin environment.
More and more, we are helping the industry make sense of its place in this evolving landscape: posing the right questions, stress testing assumptions and mapping futures back to today’s realities. While time for deep reflection is often limited, carving out space for it is critical.
