Dato’ Ng Wan Peng is the COO of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). MDEC is a government-owned agency pioneering the transformation of Malaysia’s digital economy. It is responsible for the development, coordination, and promotion of Malaysia’s digital economy, information and communications technology (ICT) industry, and the extensive use of ICT in Malaysia.
Dato’ Ng is no stranger to anyone involved in the ICT business in Malaysia. After graduating from Universiti Sains Malaysia in the nineties, she joined SAPURA as systems engineer where she moved up the ranks to project manager and then program manager before leaving to join MDEC in 1999.
She has more than 25 years’ industry experience in managing large-scale projects, in the areas of Strategic IT Planning, Project Management, Systems Integration, and Methodologies Development. Dato’ Ng has been consulted by both private and public sector organizations on IT policy and project implementation across government, defense and education sectors in Malaysia and abroad.
