6. Align with business strategy and values
Embed Responsible AI in the organization’s overarching business strategy and values. This means integrating Responsible AI principles into decision-making processes so AI-systems are designed and deployed in ways that support the organization’s mission and values.
7. Embed governance and riskmanagement
Integrate governance and riskmanagement into the development and implementation of AI to ensure systems are built and used responsibly. Establish clear internal policies, procedures, and controls for AI, and regularly monitor and audit AI-systems for bias, fairness, and transparency.
8. Leverage what already exists
Make use of existing resources, tools, and knowledge to support Responsible AI. This includes applying existing governance frameworks, riskmanagement processes, and compliance programs to AI-development and deployment.
9. Invest in an appropriate technology architecture
Invest in a technology architecture that fits the organization and supports Responsible AI practices. Select and implement AI technologies that are transparent, explainable, and fair, and that contribute to Responsible AI objectives.
10. Treat it as a continuous process
Recognize that Responsible AI is not a one-off effort, but an ongoing process of monitoring, evaluation, and improvement. This requires regularly reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and practices to ensure they remain aligned with evolving AI-risks, opportunities, and regulations.
