Hae Ryun Kim is the Chairwoman and CEO of Taekyung Group, a leading Korean materials company with a 50-year legacy in foundational industrial solutions and a growing global presence across 53 countries. She assumed leadership in 2014, succeeding her father, the late founder Younghwan Kim, whose philosophy of “industrial development for national prosperity” continues to guide the group’s identity and long-term direction.
Before joining Taekyung Group, Hae Ryun launched a fashion brand, created Korea’s first fashion-focused online shopping mall and founded a trend-consulting firm advising major industries. These experiences enhanced her ability to anticipate change, understand consumers and build businesses grounded in creativity and discipline.
Since becoming Chairwoman, Hae Ryun has focused on modernizing the organization through global expansion, portfolio diversification and a culture of innovation.
Under her leadership, Taekyung Group has doubled both revenue and operating profit, established partnerships with over 2,834 companies worldwide and expanded into next-generation fields, such as eco-friendly beauty materials and advanced inorganic solutions.
Her commitment to social responsibility is reflected in the continuation of the Songwon Kim Younghwan Scholarship Foundation, one of Korea’s longest-running private scholarship programs.
