Stephanie Chai is the founder and CEO of The Luxe Nomad, Asia-Pacific’s largest luxury vacation rental management company. Established in Singapore in 2012, The Luxe Nomad offers an exclusive collection of private villas, chalets and condo hotels, with over 1,400 rooms in idyllic destinations, such as Bali, Koh Samui, Phuket, Niseko, Rusutsu and Furano.
Stephanie's entrepreneurial journey began in 2012 when she was inspired by a friend's recommendation of a flash sales website for US hotels. Despite having no experience in e-commerce or the travel industry, she launched The Luxe Nomad with US$200,000 in angel investment and a small team. Initially a flash sales portal, the company pivoted to villa management in 2017, acquiring Bali On and later Luxury Villas and Homes in Koh Samui, successfully turning around its financial performance within 18 months. In 2023, The Luxe Nomad expanded further by acquiring Nisade, Niseko's leading luxury vacation management company which manages properties such as The Vale and Maples Niseko.
With a vision to become an internationally recognized luxury brand for vacation properties, Stephanie aims to achieve US$100 million in gross booking value within the next three to five years through continued M&A expansion. To date, The Luxe Nomad has received multiple industry awards, including recognitions from Little Steps Asia, PropertyGuru Asia and Business Circle.
