Alejandro Gamero has dedicated his career to improving waste management and promoting sustainability, particularly in vulnerable ecosystems like the Peruvian Amazon. Since establishing Green Care del Perú in 2000 with just one truck and eight employees, he has grown the company into a formidable player that now operates 35 trucks and employs 195 people. Remarkably, Green Care del Perú has achieved this growth without external capital, focusing on innovation and sustainability.
Green Care del Perú ensures compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards through customized waste management solutions in the mining, oil, fishing, agriculture and construction industries. One of its standout achievements is the safe treatment of over 20,000 tons of hydrocarbon-contaminated soil, effectively preventing 600,000 kg of pollutants from entering delicate ecosystems. The company also champions waste valorization and recycles materials like oil, plastics and organic waste. This process supports the circular economy and reduces reliance on landfills.
Looking to the future, Alejandro aims to triple the size of Green Care del Perú within the next five years, expanding into new industries and international markets while continuing to advocate for responsible waste management and environmental awareness.
