Dato’ Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed has spent more than two decades proving that Malaysia can build world-class energy and technology capabilities from the ground up. After recognizing a persistent gap between foreign technology ownership and local execution, he founded Uzma in 2000 with a simple but ambitious goal: to develop sustainable, homegrown skills that could stand alongside global players.

Since then, he has guided Uzma’s evolution from a niche oil and gas services provider into a diversified group working across energy services, production optimization, renewable power, geospatial intelligence, space technology and energy trading. That vision is reflected in the launch of UzmaSAT1 and the development of a 50MW solar farm — milestones that position the company at the forefront of Malaysia’s energy transition while advancing national space capabilities. Uzma’s responsible business practices include formalizing emissions management, maintaining zero environmental spills and lost-time incidents, and aligning its operations with Malaysia’s climate goals.
