Casey Morrison, Jitendra Mohan and Sanjay Gajendra have built their careers around a shared belief: AI would soon outgrow the limits of conventional data center connectivity. In 2017, they left established roles to pursue that vision, convinced that solving bandwidth and performance bottlenecks would be essential to unlocking the next wave of AI innovation.
Starting in a Silicon Valley garage, they set out to build purpose-built, software-defined connectivity solutions designed specifically for AI data centers. Drawing on engineering, product and go-to-market expertise forged during their time working together at Texas Instruments, the co-founders identified a critical market gap and took the risk to address it head-on.
Today, Astera Labs spans more than 750 employees across 13 global offices, with rapid growth in both scale and revenue. The company’s silicon and software portfolio delivers high performance connectivity across the AI rack and has earned the trust of leading hyperscaler customers.
