After 24 years of work experience as an inspector, chief inspector, deputy inspector and group head in the Social Security Institution (SGK), Hakkı Demirci (Ph.D.) joined EY in 2019 as a director and is currently managing the Social Security and Labour Legislation Services unit as an associate partner. He worked as a member in the legislative commission, as well as in the training of assistant inspectors, and journal review board memberships at SGK. Additionally, he has been a part of numerous inspection and investigation tasks regarding social insurance and health misconducts in hundreds of public and private workplaces. He has in-depth expertise in all things related to inspection, audit and examination in terms of labour and social security legislation in large and medium-sized enterprises. Employer and insured employee legislation, international social security, employment incentives, occupational accident-occupational disease investigations, minimum labour inspections, private hospital-pharmacy-opticians-Healthcare Implementation Communiqué are his specialties. His other areas of interest include judicial decisions and interpreting existing and newly enacted legislation. He also gave lectures on social security-labour law at Hacettepe and Health Sciences Universities, and served as an official expert in employee-employer disputes.
Demirci, who has written more than 100 articles in many nationwide magazines such as Yaklaşım, Vergide Gündem, Maliye Postası, Lebib Yalkın, Maliye-Sigorta Yorumları, Bankacılık ve Sigorta, and Sosyal Güvenlik Dünyası, is still a guest writer on ekonomist.com.tr and in the newspaper Dünya Gazetesi where he writes articles on social security, and he also shares his views on current issues on social and visual media platforms.
Demirci also has a published book titled "Health Systems and Practices in the USA-Cuba-Turkey in All Its Aspects within the Scope of Different Political Regimes and Welfare Systems".
After graduating from the Public Administration Program at Gazi University, Demirci finished his master’s degree in Finance at Karadeniz Technical University, and his Ph.D. in Gazi University’s Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations. He also graduated from the Leadership and Management Program at Northern Illinois University-USA in 2013.
