In his role as EY Private Leader, EY Africa , Azim has refocused and sustained the EY Winning Woman programme, and also the EOY programme, across Africa. Under his leadership, Winning Woman has twice been awarded first place in the Gender Main Streaming Awards – Economic Upliftment.
Azim has held many leadership roles in his career, which spans auditing and consulting. He started with EY as a Trainee Accountant in the Entrepreneurial Growth Companies (EGC) business. He then spent many years with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) where he held a number of leadership roles, culminating in Executive Director, Members and Global Alliances. He then rejoined EY in his current position.
Throughout his career, Azim has used technology to train people across Africa on growth markets tools. His vision is to actively participate in the growth of African people and businesses, on all levels.

Azim is committed to creating exceptional experiences for clients and entrepreneurs. He was nominated for the SAPSA Professional of the Year Award in 2018.
Outside of EY, Azim is a fellow member of the Institute of Directors and a judge for the SAICA Top 35 Under 35 Awards. He also assists organisations that work to uplift society, like Awqaf and WMO.
