Kirstin Butcher is Founder and CEO of Genvis, an Australian technology company reimagining public safety, emergency management, and social impact. Under her leadership, Genvis empowers governments, emergency services, and nonprofits through its flagship platform Cudo—a comprehensive solution that enhances crisis response, protects vulnerable population and drives systemic change.
Founded in 2017, Genvis initially developed computer vision solutions for retail before pivoting to public safety after Kirstin was moved by Hitting Home, a documentary exposing the family and domestic violence crisis in Australia. Committed to tackling emergency response challenges, gender-based violence, and human trafficking, Genvis delivers technologies that strengthen crisis response, public alerting, and frontline coordination.
Kirstin led Genvis’ role in Western Australia's (WA) COVID-19 response, streamlining border control, quarantine, and contact tracing. In 2024, Genvis launched the next-generation EmergencyWA, which modernizes public emergency information sharing. Through its case management product, Genvis redefines how government agencies and nonprofit support providers collaborate — enabling integrated responses that deliver enhanced support and protection to victims of crime and those impacted by crises.
Recognized as a WA Business News 40 Under 40 winner and WA Finalist for Australian of the Year, Kirstin has propelled Genvis to international opportunities, including trade missions to London (2024) and participation in the Critical Tech for USA Global Growth Accelerator (2025). With operations in Australia and Canada, Genvis is set to expand into the US in 2025, broadening its global footprint.
