EY announces two new Regional Managing Partner appointments in Asia-Pacific

Hong Kong, 24 MARCH 2021. EY today announces the appointment of Moriaki (Mori) Kida as incoming EY Japan Regional Managing Partner (RMP), and David Larocca as incoming EY Oceania Regional Managing Partner (RMP). Moriaki will succeed Koichi Tsuji and David will succeed Tony Johnson, effective July 1 2021.

EY today announces the appointment of Moriaki (Mori) Kida as incoming EY Japan Regional Managing Partner (RMP), and David Larocca as incoming EY Oceania Regional Managing Partner (RMP). Moriaki will succeed Koichi Tsuji and David will succeed Tony Johnson, effective July 1 2021.

Both Mori and David will draw upon their long and distinguished careers at the EY organization as they begin their new roles in two of our key regions in the EY Asia-Pacific Area.

Moriaki Kida, incoming EY Japan Regional Managing Partner

Mori joined the EY organization in 1996 and became an Audit Partner with Ernst & Young LLP in July 2007 in California. Since then, he has worked with EY teams in multiple locations, including San Francisco, London, New York, and most recently, his hometown of Tokyo. Currently, he is EY Japan Chief Operating Officer, a role he has held since July 2019, and prior to that EY Japan Deputy Area Managing Partner for three years. Mori has played a crucial and ongoing role in the transformation and growth of the region. He is well placed to take on the role, having served as a member on several EY Global boards.

Mori’s experience includes serving many large multinational clients across multiple sectors, such as technology, diversified industrial products, life sciences and energy. He is also an advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives both internally and externally, with a particular focus on gender, LGBT+ and those with diverse ability and cultural backgrounds.

David Larocca, incoming EY Oceania Regional Managing Partner

David became a partner at Ernst & Young Australia in 2006 and took over as Strategy and Transactions (SaT) Managing Partner, Ernst & Young Australia in 2016. He leads a diverse team of more than 800 professionals who advise clients on their strategic and capital agenda. In addition, he has been a member of the EY Oceania Executive Leadership Team for the last five years and has been an active member of several Asia-Pacific and Global leadership committees within the EY organization. 

Focusing on infrastructure, David has more than 25 years of experience advising Government & Private Sector clients on major infrastructure transactions in Australia, Asia and Europe. Prior to joining the EY organization, David held roles in the banking, corporate and professional services sectors. He is an advocate for diversity and inclusion and has championed programs to encourage more women into the profession.
