Apetit Plc has announced the acquisition of shares in Foodhills AB, a Swedish producer of frozen peas, on October 9, 2025. Foodhills, located in the Skåne area of Sweden, reported net sales of SEK 167.8 million and an operating profit of SEK -54.7 million in 2024. Since 2018, Foodhills has invested over SEK 200 million in its Bjuv production plant.
This acquisition aligns with Apetit's growth strategy, reinforcing its position in Sweden and increasing its frozen pea volumes. With this acquisition, Apetit gains a strong platform in the Swedish market, enhancing its role as a significant Nordic producer of frozen peas and vegetable-based food. The cultivation area and production capacity of Apetit's frozen peas will grow substantially, with the company estimating that it will produce over 10% of Europe's frozen peas in the future. The investments made at Foodhills' Bjuv factory will enable significant growth in both the Swedish market and exports.
