Tibor Pálszabó

Tibor is a lawyer with a bar exam and a registered tax expert. He has 25+ years of experience in tax consulting. He is a tax partner since 2006.

He represented EY Hungary in New York as the Hungarian tax desk from 2003 till 2005; led EY Hungary’s People Advisory Services (then Human Capital) team between 2007 and 2012; as well as the Business Tax Advisory team between 2012 and 2018. He was the head of the Financial Services Industry Tax team in CESA between 2012 and 2019. Currently he is a partner in the Business Tax Advisory and the International Tax and Transaction Services team.

His extensive experience covers assisting in cross border and domestic group restructuring transactions, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence reviews.

He has been advising several banks, financial institutions and asset managers in their transactions, day-to-day tax matters and in their product development efforts.

He participated in the design and implementation of several employee share plans and other tax efficient remuneration policies for both domestic and multinational groups.

Tibor has been assisting several domestic and multinational groups in obtaining investment incentives and tax credits both before domestic authorities and the European Commission. He is the lead tax partner in the Korean Business Network in Hungary, guiding several Korean investors with their green field investments in Hungary in various industries, from the site selection, through the incentive applications and also after they started their operations.

He is actively supporting several high net-worth individuals and their domestic and international ventures with tax advice, estate planning and led the consulting work on the creation of many domestic trust arrangements. He also helped privately held Hungarian groups go public and access the advantages of listing in the Hungarian Stock Exchange.
