As the EY UK Head of Aerospace & Defense (A&D), Matt works within the Birmingham Transaction Advisory team and the National Industrials team. He advises companies on disposals through vendor assistance and vendor due diligence, acquisitions, accelerated sales, and cross-border transactions for investors and vendors.
Matt has substantial experience supporting corporate public limited companies, private equity (PE) clients and private companies within the A&D sector.
He has also undertaken a secondment as an interim CFO to a UK defense supplier following a successful management buyout to a US PE house. This has given Matt day-to-day operational, financial and commercial experience that allows him to work through solutions with client and target management teams. Previously, Matt spent 10 years at another Big Four firm where he helped initiate and build out the Deal Advisory Industrial and A&D team. Matt has a degree in Economics from the University of Liverpool.
