Human Rights in EY Norway and among our suppliers

EY Norway is committed to upholding and promoting human rights and decent working conditions in accordance with the Norwegian Transparency Act.

We believe that respect for human rights is fundamental to fulfilling our purpose of “Building a better Working World.” The commitment to uphold and promote human rights is anchored with EY Global Executives as well as the management and board of EY Norway.

EY Norway regularly conducts due diligence assessments in its own operations and supply chain in line with the requirements of the Transparency Act.

Based on our assessments, we have identified human rights challenges in our operations and value chain that require particular attention from EY Norway.

In our own operations, we have identified three areas with the highest risk of negative impact:

  • The right to fair and favorable working conditions (including rest, leisure, and reasonable limitation of working hours)
  • The right to health (physical inactivity during the working day, mental health related to high work intensity and stress levels)
  • The right not to be subjected to discrimination and harassment

In recent years, we have prioritized in-depth assessments of suppliers to EY Norway with a medium or high risk of human rights violations. The level of risk is based on evaluations of the supplier’s country, industry, raw materials in the supply chain, and available information on human rights maturity. In total, we have identified 13 rights that are particularly relevant across our value chain from raw materials to final products or services.

In 2025, EY Norway has carried out further supplier assessments, with a particular focus on the hospitality sector due to the inherent risk of negative impact on human and labor rights – even in a Nordic context.

EY Norway has well-established processes in place to safeguard human rights within its own operations, and we have continued our efforts based on the measures and procedures outlined in the 2024 report.

Based on this year’s due diligence assessments, we have identified new measures for the coming year that will further strengthen our efforts to safeguard rights within EY Norway and among our suppliers.
