A celebration of expertise in turning risk into opportunities took place when EY Nordic Risk Transformation Awards happened in at Langelinie Pavillionen in Copenhagen 7 May.
14 prominent organizations from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland were nominated in three different categories.
This year, the Norwegian crop nutrition and agricultural solutions company Yara was handed the Resilience award, the global brewery group Carlsberg won the Risk Innovation category, and a leading software and digital engineering services company Tietoevry won the Sustainability category.
All winners were selected by an independent jury, underscoring the significance of effective risk management in navigating the complexities of today's business environment.
“In an era marked by rapid change and uncertainty, companies face numerous challenges that demand robust risk management strategies. These challenges include climate change, technological advancements, demographic shifts, and geopolitical tensions. We congratulate the winners”, says jury spokesperson Ekon. Dr. Kristian Kallenberg, Ph.D. senior GRC advisor and lecturer.
“The EY Nordic Risk Transformation Awards aim not only to recognize organizations that excel in risk management but also to inspire others to enhance their own practices, and identify opportunities,” says Ylva Bergström, partner in Risk Transformation at EY.
With a changing world comes a transformed business landscape. Effective risk management transcends mere compliance; it involves anticipating and addressing future risks and critically, finding opportunities for growth, development and resilience. Companies that excel in risk management are often more agile and better positioned for sustainable success. Strong risk management practices also enhance the ability to balance risks against potential rewards.
“We congratulate the winners and appreciate all the impressive work that we have gotten to know through the nominations sent in,” says Bergström.
