Amílcar is an Indirect Tax Partner with more than 18 years of experience in indirect taxation and audit services.
He has significant experience in Portuguese and European legislation relating to Value Added Tax (VAT), as well as extensive experience advising on excise duties, namely ISP (Petroleum and Energy Products Tax), IST (Tobacco Tax), IABA (Alcoholic Beverages Tax), and the emerging area of environmental indirect taxation, including plastic and CO₂ emissions taxes.
He has been invited to speak by Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics at the 1st and 2nd Intensive Summer Courses on VAT and Excise Taxes.
He teaches the VAT module in the Advanced Tax Management Postgraduate Programme at IDEFE.
He holds a degree in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and a postgraduate qualification in Taxation from the Institute for Development and Economic, Financial and Business Studies (IDEFE, Technical University of Lisbon – ISEG).
He is a Certified Accountant and an arbitrator at CAAD (Administrative Arbitration Centre).
