Gil Escaleira

Audit and FAAS Partner. Gil has two children and loves travelling with his family. His favourite sport is skiing, although running and cycling are also activities he enjoys.

Gil is a Partner in the Audit and FAAS departments, responsible for the EY IFRS Desk in Portugal and also a member of the Portuguese PPG.

He has more than 19 years of experience in financial services and auditing.

Gil coordinates audit projects across a range of industries, including Construction and Real Estate, Energy and Utilities, Retail and Consumer Business, Automotive and Transportation, and Diversified Industrial Products.

He regularly delivers and oversees internal and client training courses on IFRS and Portuguese GAAP (SNC).

He has coordinated several GAAP to IFRS conversion projects for various Portuguese business groups.

He has experience in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), being responsible for the preparation of "private reports" for the investment banks involved and for validating the financial information included in prospectuses.

He has led projects aimed at identifying gaps between the design of financial and administrative processes and the procedures actually implemented, compared with industry best practices, recommending corrective measures to be adopted.

He holds a degree in Management from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and is a Certified Public Accountant.
