EY Thailand welcomed 103 executives from Japanese companies having business operation in Thailand to its 2026 Annual Japanese Seminar in Bangkok on 16 September 2026 under the theme of “Navigating Business Challenges, Transforming for Growth.” to discuss key trends, emerging risks and strategic opportunities shaping today’s business environment.
The seminar commenced with opening remarks from Wichart Lokatekrawee, partner in charge of Thailand Japanese Business Group, together with Takashi Ouchida, assurance leader of Japan Business Services at Ernst & Young ShinNihon LLC, setting the stage for a day of forward-looking discussions and practical insights.
A highlight of the seminar started with the session, Business Transformation with AI, where Vasupon Thankakan from Microsoft Thailand, together with EY’s Yasuaki Shigematsu and Naoto Yamamoto, explored how artificial intelligence is redefining the way organizations operate, innovate and create value. Their perspectives inspired participants to envision new possibilities for growth through technology-driven and create new business value.
In the second session, Optimizing Performance in a Changing Business Landscape, Koji Higashi and Rissara Lekvijittada explored strategies for strengthening organizational health through business diagnostics, restructuring initiatives and operational excellence. Participants also received an update on IFRS 18 from Toru Anazawa and Daisuke Takeshita, who highlighted key accounting changes and the importance of early preparation for the new reporting requirements.
The final session, Emerging Trends in the Tax and Investment Landscape, presented by Kentaro Kato, Jun Kamiya and Kohei Sawada, covered a comprehensive outlook on the recent developments in transfer pricing audits, tax challenges, investment incentives, and global minimum tax considerations.

At the venue, EY’s Japanese Publication Desk was set up to distribute various EY publications to Japanese client executives. EY Thailand’s JBS team, led by Wichart Lokatekrawee, Yupa Wichitkraisorn and Kusuma Vivattanaprasert, has organized annual seminars for EY Thailand and EY Japan clients since 2002.
