EY Global Business Services has been recognized by ALM Intelligence (ALM) as a leader in the market for transforming corporate functions in its new report, The ALM Vanguard: Corporate Services Consulting, part of ALM’s Operating Model Consulting research series.

According to ALM, EY advances its leadership position by adding momentum to a core value proposition that leverages wider support functions for enterprise digital transformation.

Christian Mertin, EY Global Business Services Leader, says:

“The introduction of emerging technologies, including robotic process automation, intelligent automation and virtual reality, as well as advanced data analytics, into Global Business Services (GBS) organizations indicates that we are on the threshold of a potentially immense increase in efficiency and scope of GBS.  This challenges us to leap from cutting costs and bundling process-based activities together, to enabling GBS to take a lead role in an organization-wide digital transformation.”

In addition, ALM named EY as a “best-in-class” provider in the ALM ”enabling tools” capability category. The report cites the EY GBS Digital Command Center which provides clients with a centralized approach to managing the continuous improvement of back office operations, as contributing to the EY ranking. The cloud-based center helps a range of stakeholders understand process weakness, increase compliance and risk mitigation, update process documentation and training materials, monitor RPA tools, and generate business insights through enterprise KPI analysis and reporting.

Liz DeVito, Associate Director, Management Consulting Research, ALM Intelligence, says:

"EY is a leader in terms of capabilities to create client impact through their depth of experience and ability to deploy it across a range of engagement models. EY GBS offers a modular approach to corporate services consulting that facilitates consistent service delivery at any stage of the client’s journey, yet is nonetheless holistic in its consideration of all dimensions of corporate services strategy, operations including shared services and outsourcing, controls, and measures. GBS methodologies use agile and design thinking principles and have created a substantial repository of enabling tools and templates that both accelerate project pace and build clients’ internal capabilities.
