Dan has worked in cybersecurity since the late 1990s helping clients across public service, retail, healthcare, financial services, resources, pharmaceuticals, communications, and high tech find security solutions aligned to business needs. He holds patents around uniquely integrating security, biometrics, and identity assurance technologies.

Dan has knowledge and experience in a variety of information security disciplines including security assessments, enterprise security architecture, identity management, threat and vulnerability management, cloud security, and artificial intelligence. In recent years, he has focused on extended enterprise security, helping client organizations integrate cloud, mobile, data, and IoT security.

In 2026, he was recognized as a Distinguished Technologist by the global EY organization.

He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He has co-authored several SANS Information Security books and holds certifications including SABSA, CCSK, GSEC, CSSA, and CISSP.
