Akira is an Associate Partner of EY Strategy and Consulting Co., Ltd, engaged in consulting services for financial services institutions, including banks, securities companies, investment funds and insurance companies.
His current focus is leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency, promoting digital transformation through automation, blockchain and AI.
Earlier in his EY career, he also provided M&A advisory services and worked for extended periods in the UK, USA, Brazil, and Myanmar.
Prior to joining the firm, his roles included working at a general trading company, an international financial institution and a major telecom operator where he gained experience in corporate planning (overseas initiatives), plant exports, project finance, M&A and investment banking, and global operations.
He is a graduate of Kobe University’s Faculty of Economics, and later earned an MBA (with a major in accounting & e-commerce) from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
