How Ken is building a better working world
I often pose two questions: who benefits from compliance and what is its purpose? In the real world, there can be a disconnect between a management intention to act with integrity and employee behavior. To resolve this issue, employees must understand that management's commitment to compliance is not solely for appearances’ sake: it is demonstrated in the development and implementation of appropriate compliance programs. This is best achieved with a system that encourages employees to develop their own sense of responsibility and to act with integrity. I believe that strengthening compliance is not only a process for avoiding future losses, such as the costs of investigations, litigation and brand damage; it is also a necessary foundation for sustainable corporate growth. My role is to support the transformation from management intentions to management action, with the end goal of achieving greater honesty and integrity by companies and their employees.
