Lars Dahlen is an Associate Partner in Ernst & Young Tax Co., where he is the Global Compliance and Reporting Inbound Co-lead. He also heads the EY German Business Network (GBN) in Japan. His practice focusses on advising inbound clients on tax compliance and reporting, tax planning and tax controversy matters. He leverages his technical knowledge alongside his lived experience and understanding of Japanese business and culture to provide effective and practical advice which can resolve tax issues faced by international clients operating in Japan.
He began his career at an EY member firm in Germany and returned to Tokyo after an initial four-year secondment. Lars is a German licensed tax advisor (Steuerberater) and attorney (Rechtsanwalt). He is a former guest lecturer at Keio Law School, Tokyo. Furthermore he holds a Diploma in Law from the University of Münster and a Master of Accounting & Taxation from Mannheim Business School.
